DENTAL HEALTH MATTERS
​Each year the WI agrees a campaign and focuses effort at a national level by lobbying parliament and locally with positive action and raising awareness.
Over the last 110 years we have covered many topics, including amongst others poor housing, sanitation, river cleanliness, ‘keep Britain tidy’, domestic violence and microplastics.​​

WI delegates have met with MPs locally and nationally to lobby for a change in the NHS dental contract.
Locally, finding ways to help includes ensuring that children have access to toothbrushes and toothpaste. At Arnside & Arnside Knott WI seamstress Ros Judge has been busy making toothbrush bags. Arnside Dental Practice has donated children’s toothpaste and members have added more toothpaste and brushes to make 40 toothbrush bags. These are being distributed through Milnthorpe foodbank and Kings foodbank in Kendal.
